A Bedroom Closet Door Swap That Changed How the Whole Room Breathes

If you live in a standard-issue apartment, you probably know the frustration of the bifold closet door. They require clearance to open, they pinch your fingers, and they dictate exactly where you can and cannot place your furniture.

You need a fabric with some weight to it, so it hangs straight and looks intentional. The linen adds a massive dose of texture to a room that was mostly drywall and painted wood.

The Hardware Matters

Do not use a flimsy white plastic tension rod. A matte black or brass rod makes the setup look architectural rather than temporary.

Now, I can push the curtain entirely to one side to see my whole wardrobe at once, and my bedside table sits exactly where it belongs. The room breathes better, and the morning routine is significantly less pinched.
